Yorkshire Dance

Yorkshire Dance is a regional charity which works through dance to create happiness, health, connection and change.

With studios in central Leeds, Yorkshire Dance runs a wide range of free and low-cost dance classes in our building and in community locations across Leeds and Bradford. We specialise in running dance classes for young people, older adults and adults with learning disabilities.

Rooted in Chapeltown and Harehills we run Company of People, an intergenerational community performance company which creates work for professional stages and has toured internationally.

The charity provides specialist producer support and residency space for dance artists based in the North supporting them to create new work.

Yorkshire Dance holds mini festivals throughout the year featuring an eclectic mix of bold new performances, inspirational talks, exhilarating workshops and classes from both local and international dance artists. Festivals include Ageless, Children & Their Grown Ups, LGBTQIA+ Encounters and FRESH our regional youth dance festival.

We run a regional network for dance professionals fostering partnership working around the region.

Our building hosts a range of affordable offices, meeting rooms and studios acting as a hub for small creative organisations in Leeds.
